Climate Action Policy

Climate Action Policy

CitySwift recognises the need to address climate change and is committed to a sustainable future. Our Carbon Reduction Plan outlines our strategy to reduce our carbon footprint and promote environmental awareness.

Climate change poses significant risks to the environment and global economy. As a socially responsible organisation, we are committed to sustainable practices and encourage our customers and the public to join us. We are driven by our commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Our vision is to reduce global emissions from transport while offering an easy, reliable, predictable, clean, and quick solution for everyday travel.

Carbon Reduction Plan

Commitment to achieving net zero: CitySwift (T/A Huddl Mobility Ltd) is already effectively Net Zero, based on the CO2 savings delivered by our platform each year. We are formally committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030and aim to continue scaling our positive impact - targeting a cumulative reduction of 100,000,000 kg CO2 by the end of the decade.

Baseline emissions footprint: All emissions fall under scope 3 - our calculation includes upstream emissions from purchased goods and services, capital goods, upstream transport and distribution and business travel, calculated from our expenses.

Baseline and current year emissions: 2024

Scope 1: XX

Scope 2: XX

Scope 3 (Included Sources): 48.5 tCO2e

Total Emissions: 48.5 tCO2e

Emissions reductions targets

Our technology platform enables the collection and analysis of large amounts of data across transport networks. This data is used by public transport authorities and private operators to increase efficiency and improve the passenger experience, which leads to increased public transport usage.

By enabling the optimisation of bus routes and schedules, CitySwift’s performance optimisation platform increases the number of people using public transport, leading to a reduction in carbon emissions. As part of our Sustainability Impact Plan, we have calculated that CitySwift’s platform reduced carbon emissions by 13,445,558 KgCO2 in 2024. We’re targeting a reduction of 100,000,000 KgCO2 per year by 2030.

*Based on the carbon emissions reduced by our platform through increasing bus passenger volumes and offsetting car transport, as outlined in our Sustainability Impact Plan, CitySwift has a net positive impact on reducing carbon emissions.

Carbon reduction projects

Completed carbon reduction initiatives

  • Data-driven efficiency: CitySwift ingests, aggregates and analyses large-scale transport data (e.g. passenger numbers, delays, usage patterns) to help transport networks operate more efficiently and sustainably.
  • Boosting public transport Use: By optimizing routes and reducing delays, our platform increases public transport ridership—every 1% improvement in punctuality drives a 0.5% increase in demand.
  • Electrification support: In Oxford, CitySwift supported the replacement of 159 diesel buses with electric vehicles, reducing emissions by 13,000 tonnes of CO₂e annually under the ZEBRA Scheme.
  • Scalable environmental impact: By 2026, an estimated 62,634 tonnes of CO₂e will be saved annually across 44,000 buses using CitySwift's platform, proving the power of shared, optimized mobility.

Future carbon reduction initiatives

In the future we hope to implement further measures such as:

  • Establish baseline and assess emissions: Our baseline has been established and we track progress on an annual basis
  • Reduce emissions across operations: Implement strategies including energy-efficient technologies, hybrid/remote working, reduced business travel, and optimized transport usage.
  • Offset unavoidable emissions: Invest in certified carbon offset projects to neutralise residual emissions transparently and effectively.
  • Engage stakeholders and foster collaboration: Involve employees, customers, and partners in climate action while collaborating with industry and government on best practices.
  • Monitor, report and improve continuously: Regularly track progress, publish sustainability reports, and adapt initiatives to evolving technologies and business needs.

Declaration and sign off

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 006 and associated guidance and reporting standards for Carbon Reduction Plans.

Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.

Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent management body).
