International Women’s Day at CitySwift 2022

CitySwift is proud to celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) by celebrating the achievements of our hard working female team members.

IWD takes place on Tuesday 8th March, and we are delighted to take part and showcase CitySwift female employees.  At CitySwift, we believe in acknowledging and advancing the achievements of women every day, and IWD serves as an ideal time to continue to strengthen that commitment.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #BreakTheBias, with the idea of a gender equal world.

According to International Women's Day;

“Imagine a gender equal world.
A world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.
A world that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive.
A world where difference is valued and celebrated.
Together we can forge women's equality.
Collectively we can all #BreakTheBias.”

To mark International Women’s Day at CitySwift, employees were photographed doing the #BreakTheBias pose to show that they commit to helping #BreakTheBias.

Now it’s time to hear the thoughts from our female employees that joined the CitySwift team in the past year. To read our blog showcasing our other female employees from IWD 2021, view here.

Meet Niamh, who is Marketing Manager at Cityswift. Niamh chose the “I will try to influence others’ belief & actions #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will try to influence others’ belief & actions #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because I think that leading by example is a great way to effect change. I believe it’s important to speak up when faced with bias, including questioning my own opinions, and I strive to create safe spaces for others to do the same.

Throughout my life and career I have always been inspired by women that lead the charge in developing inclusive environments for others, and I believe that if we all focus on positively influencing others’ thoughts and actions in small ways every day, we will help to break the cycle of bias that is unfortunately ingrained in all of us in different ways.”

Meet Rebekah, who is Account Director at Cityswift. Niamh chose the “I will challenge gender stereotypes, discrimination and bias #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will challenge gender stereotypes, discrimination and bias #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because I'm lucky to have grown up in an environment full of smart, fearless women who never put limits on what or who they could be. As a woman in tech, it's important for me to me to lead with that same open-mindedness, kindness and a progressive mindset where everyone is equal and gender discrimination is not tolerated.”

Meet Hannah, who is a Customer Success Graduate at Cityswift. Hannah chose the “I will forge positive visibility of women #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will forge positive visibility of women #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because I believe it is important to foster a supportive and equal
culture, not only within the workplace but in society in general. Highlighting women’s perspectives and achievements, and encouraging their success, helps to forge the positive visibility of women both in the workplace and in our wider society.

CitySwift promotes an environment where all opinions and perspectives are valued equally, regardless of gender. At all times, everyone in the company is made to feel like their opinions are equally valued and important.”

Meet Iulia, who is Business Operations Process Manager at Cityswift. Iulia chose the
“I will celebrate women’s achievements #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will celebrate women’s achievements #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because I love its positivity and I believe we should be celebrating more often all the beautiful achievements out there.

I grew up in a culture that emphasised you always need to do better and focus on what you need to accomplish next. I am a strong believer that celebrating every success and taking time to acknowledge and enjoy it will always inspire you and the ones around you and that is why I am teaching my daughter to do this and be proud of absolutely every achievement.

I am also truly lucky to be experiencing this every day within the CitySwift team and excited to be part of a workplace that lives and breathes this principle!”

Meet Emma, who is a People Associate at Cityswift. Emma chose the

“I will inspire women to step out of their comfort zone and achieve their dreams #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will inspire women to step out of their comfort zone and achieve their dreams #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because I am a strong believer in women supporting women. I think women can achieve amazing things when they are supported by their peers.

Throughout my life I have been inspired by my female family members and friends to go out and fight for what I want. I think being able to see others you relate to achieve their dreams can be inspiring especially starting off in your career.

At CitySwift, it's great to see that all voices/ideas are important regardless of your gender and that there is equal opportunity for senior roles in the company.”

Meet Kayleigh, who is a Business/Finance Graduate at Cityswift. Kayleigh chose the
“I will help forge a gender equal world #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will help forge a gender equal world #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because I think women deserve to be recognised for their accomplishments and success as much as men are. It's important to acknowledge that, although many workplaces such as CitySwift value equality, there is still bias to be overcome in the world.  I hope that gender equality will be a cornerstone of society in years to come and International Women's day is a great way to support this.”

Meet Seana, who is a Data Analyst Graduate at Cityswift. Seana chose the “I will call out gendered actions or assumptions #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will call out gendered actions or assumptions #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because in order to put an end to the biases women face, everyday sexism must be interrupted. If nothing changes then nothing changes, which is why it is so important to be vocal about gendered assumptions as they occur.

I am glad to work for a company that does not let my gender have any impact on the way I work or the opportunities made available to me.”

Meet Chloe, who is a Customer Success Manager at Cityswift. Chloe chose the “I will maintain a gender equal mindset #BreakTheBias” quote.

“I will maintain a gender equal mindset #BreakTheBias”

“I chose this quote because I believe everyone should be treated equally regardless of their gender as we all have something important to say or contribute giving different perspectives.

Growing up with brothers I was really fortunate in that we were always treated equally and encouraged to follow our passions regardless of the gender stereotypes associated with them, but I know many others don't share this experience so it's important to keep this in mind.

At CitySwift it's really great because everyone is encouraged to give their opinion.”

Meet CitySwift’s female workforce!

CitySwift thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the 2022 International Women’s Day #BreakTheBias campaign. We will continue to celebrate women's achievements both within the workplace and externally, and encourage a gender equal world for everyone. Until next year.
