We’re hiring! 50 new roles over the next 24 months

Today, CitySwift co-founders Brian O’Rourke and Alan Farrelly hopped onto an open-topped bus for a socially distanced meeting with Hildegarde Naughton, Minister of State at Ireland’s Department of Transport, to announce an expansion of the business – with a new headquarters in the heart of Galway and 50 new hires over the next two years.

The announcement of 50 additional jobs - to include 15 immediate hires - comes after we secured €2m in funding from existing investors Enterprise Ireland, Western Development Commission, ACT Venture Capital, Irelandia Investment, and Mike McGearty. The roles being hired for will be across software, data science, and commercial areas including customer success, sales and marketing. As part of the rapid growth, we will also be moving to a bigger headquarters in Galway City Centre.

Speaking on the expansion of CitySwift, Hildegarde Naughton stated, “I welcome the announcement of 50 jobs in Galway today. Growth of this scale for a local company, especially during these times, is remarkable. Informing and enhancing connectivity across the nation through CitySwift’s platform will do a great deal in optimising public transportation for operators and passengers alike.”

Brian O’Rourke added, “We are incredibly proud to be one of the homegrown companies in Galway. CitySwift is an Irish-founded scale-up that is continuing to grow at a rapid rate. Unblocking cities through public transport is a vital component of a city’s infrastructure, and it is critically important that the industry continues to innovate. We are excited to continue to invest in the best talent to fuel our expansion with the hiring of 50 new roles for our Galway headquarters and look forward to finding some of the most talented software, transport and commercial professionals in Galway and Ireland to come on board our journey”.

Jenny Melia, Divisional Manager, High Potential Start-Ups, Enterprise Ireland said, “We are very proud to have assisted CitySwift’s growth and are delighted at the positive news for the company, and for Galway, announced today. CitySwift is proof positive that Irish based start-up companies can scale rapidly and win important contracts throughout Europe.  CitySwift’s technology will help deliver better public transport services to citizens across Europe, enhancing the public realm of cities and towns. It’s a great example of how cutting-edge Irish technology is making a real difference to our quality of life.”
